Re: [TUT]How To: Nav buttons for Aa_New_Damage

droools at new aa v2
lol glad you got it working, but just cause im curious: what was the problem? was there just a CSS error, or was the CSS exactly as written and the image was swapped (i.e. the "hover" effect on top instead of the bottom)?

i cut the original image in half as opposed to loading the whole image, i didnt make sense that the glow and non-glow button was the same image but it works so ts all good.

Have you tried Drupal for a CMS if that's what you're wanting? I do believe Crip converted v2 to TP. You can check his section of the tp forums for it.

The real hell is your life gone wrong.

Re: [TUT]How To: Nav buttons for Aa_New_Damage

1) Love Aa New Damage, have been using AaND original flavor for a little over 2 years now.

2) m3talc0re: WONDERFUL TUTORIAL for adding buttons!  Thank you!  VERY CLEAR and worked right off the bat with no problems!

3) The ONLY thing I noticed was where you say, <a href="', $scripturl, '**url here**"> I had to go <a href="********url here********"> -not getting rid of &scripturl, messed with the destination and resulted in a 404.  Small detail, but important.

GENERAL QUESTION FOR THE MENTALLY CHALLENGED:
Looking at this method, I have to wonder; referring to the values you have indicated here that need changing for AaND, is this a general principle that can be applied to other themes to add buttons?  e.g.; a) create and FTP the appropriate menu image of your choice to the images folder of the theme; b) alter the style sheet to mimic the look of the buttons already there by copy/pasting an existing one in the appropriate position and adjust the necessary values; c) go to index.template and copy/paste code from an existing button to the position you want your new button to go and adjust the appropriate values accordingly.

Is that the gist of how it works for adding buttons to themes in general, or just how it's done with this theme in particular?

Regardless, thank you for such a clear and PAIN FREE tutorial!   Grin
