The only way you can do it to change the background color is either edit the Post.template.php or change the tborder class's background color in the style.css.

As far as the User CP option, I have no idea, my theme shouldn't effect this Undecided

Once 2.0 goes final, yeah, but you'll have to get in line, lol. I've got quite a few themes to update to 2.0 final when it does get here Undecided  Yeah.. I'm dreading it.
